At Truckers America, our national contract driver recruiters are responsible for understanding the local driver labor market, know where and how to best reach CDL drivers and maintain a relationship with those drivers from the point of introduction through their hiring.


Our national contract driver recruiter will manage the sourcing, selection,closing and components within a complete life-cycle recruiting process. Utilizing sales, research, and networking skills, the position will require the proactive identification of active and passive talent, through effective and creative utilization of sourcing tools.


We are looking for an individual who is passionate in discussing driving careers on the phone. Someone who is able to work independently, deliver results, has high energy and able to proficiently use technology.


This position will support our operations nationally.  


Job Responsibilities:

-Develops and maintains a full understanding of the local driver labor market.

-Confers with Truckers America about client staffing needs and requirements

-Develops and maintains relationships with drivers through a variety of sources, electronically. 

-Develops networks with external sources to continually improve sourcing opportunities

-Manages the necessary sourcing and advertising of openings

-Sources, prescreens, interviews applicants

-Tracks and manages applicants using ATS technology

-Coordinates communications with applicants and Truckers America team

-Ensures compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations including AAP, ADA, and OFCCP; shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences in all phases of recruitment process.

-Supports Truckers America diversity initiatives and objectives.

-Develops a full understanding of, and utilizes, reporting features of requisition and applicant tracking system



Job Qualifications

-6 months of specific CDL driver recruiting experience preferred but not required

-Prior CDL driving experience, or driver management experience preferred but not necessary

-Strong understanding of DOT and FMCSA preferred

-Bachelor's degree or experience in the transportation industry. Prior experience is preferred

-Excellent knowledge of Internet candidate data mining; recruiting certification preferred

-Knowledge of employment law and hiring practices helpful

-Strong knowledge of enterprise applicant tracking systems required, prior experience with ATS helpful

-Strong understanding of computer, tablet, and smartphone technologies helpful

-Detail oriented with strong organizational and documentation/record keeping skills required

-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment required
